Therapeutic Bodywork, AAPA
Camilla is our multi-lingual* and highly skilled Therapeutic
Bodyworker, who focuses on patient-centered care, both on physical and mental
levels. She is known for being caring and supportive, as well as
enthusiastic and motivating. Through the body she is able to address
physical, emotional, energetic as well as environmental distress by
choosing the appropriate mix of therapies from her unique set of
integrated skills. Having spent her formative years (until late
20’s) moving around 4 continents has made her highly skilled
at working around cultural barriers with ease.
After a BA (Hons) in fashion, and a career in the interior and graphic
design world, she finally followed her true calling and focused on
using her talents to help people improve their lives – starting
with accomplishing Reiki levels 1&2 in the UK, as well as an Indian
Head Massage certificate in India. Wanting to take her training to
degree level, she went back to University and successfully completed
her degree at the University of Westminster with a BSc (Hons) Health
Sciences: Therapeutic Bodywork, as well as a post graduate diploma in
Clinical Reflexology.
As a therapist her passions lie in facilitating a life with little or
no obstructions, on a mental and physical level, by encouraging natural
alignment and movement through releasing and strengthening the soft
tissues in the body. Providing the individual with the opportunity to
achieve health through awareness, connection, and improved movement
patterns lies at the core of the treatment.
When she is not working as a therapist Camilla is a guest lecturer,
researcher and clinical supervisor at the University of Westminster.
She actively plans and arranges continued professional development
seminars and has recently started developing a series of collaborative
stress-management and self-care workshops for carers. Currently her
main areas of interest are exploring trauma through the body, mental
health issues, and the effect touch-deprivation has on children.
*that's truly multi-lingual. She is proficient in English and
German, fluent in Dutch and Danish, and also speaks French and Swedish.
